Happy Fathers' Day to everyone! Whether you are a father, an uncle, or friend. Whether you have fathers, brothers who are fathers or friends as and of fathers. Sunday is a day to reflect on all of the wonderful male role models who have, and continue to, influence our lives.
Emeritus Bishop Eugene Hurley in many of his addresses to schools in the NT would talk about the prayer, the Our Father. He always focused on the first word - Our. We don't pray 'my father'; we acknowledge God as father to all. No matter what our own circumstances are, we are all united with God as OUR father.
